Worship Choir

All ages 17+
Rehearsal and Prayer: Wednesday, 6:30 p.m.

The Christian faith has been a singing faith from the very beginning. From Genesis, “when the morning stars sang together,” to Revelation when that “new song” is heard around the throne, God's Word overflows with exhortations and encouragement to praise Him with music. In fact, Ephesians 5:18-19 teaches us that evidence of a spirit-filled life is a singing heart. The same is true of a local church and it is certainly true of Washington Avenue Baptist Church.

The Worship Choir consists of people who are called by God to this ministry. The Lord may call someone who can barely sing a tune to someone who can sing professionally. The main thing is being obedient to God's calling in your life.

If you feel called to lead in worship where worship is vibrant, personal and compelling, offers real hope and a genuine encounter with the living God - then welcome home!

The Worship Choir always has open enrollment. No experience required . . . just a willing heart who can be truly dedicated to this ministry.

Including leading in corporate worship through music on Sunday mornings, the Music Ministry presents annually their 4 night Easter Passion Play, Cookeville Passion Play.
In addition, Christmas, God and Country, and Worship Musicals/Productions are presented.

In addition in singing in the worship choir, choir members may have the opportunity to minister through music by the way of singing a solo, being part of a smaller ensemble, or singing in our Praise Team.

Join us this Wednesday for rehearsal and this Sunday as we worship our wonderful, risen Lord!

*Please note that childcare is provided during Wednesday night choir rehearsals. If needed, childcare can be provided during special-called rehearsals.
