Get involved at The Avenue!

On Sunday, July 19, we will have a night to pray for Israel. A meal will be served at 5PM and the service is at 6PM. Our speaker will be Yisrael, a former Orthodox Jew, who came to Jesus for salvation. Yisrael’s heart is for Jewish people to come to Christ. He will share how God is working in the hearts of the Jewish people.

Beginning August 2 - September 13 our adult Sunday School teachers and small group leaders will teach a series of lessons from the book Turning Everyday Conversations into Gospel Conversations. This series will encourage, challenge, and equip believers to share their faith. On Sunday, September 13, Pastor Mark will preach a sermon on witnessing and give a challenge to the congregation. Books are available in the auditorium on the front and back tables at a cost of $5 for the study of this series.

Whether your marriage needs to be reignited or completely resurrected, re|engage is a safe place for you and your spouse to reconnect. Re|engage is for strengthening marriages and helping struggling marriages to be renewed. A new session begins Wednesday, August 12. Signups are limited to 6 couples. It will be from 6—7:30pm for fourteen weeks. Nursery will be provided. The cost is $30 per couple to cover books and must be paid to reserve your spot.

Arion Carter, outside linebacker for the University of Tennessee football team, will be at First Baptist on July 9 at 6:30 p.m. to share about his role at UT and his personal testimony. Area football teams will be attending, and all are invited to join us for this special evening.

Join us on Thursday, July 9, at 7PM for a special gospel concert featuring the Mark Trammell Quartet and the Glorylanders. Come enjoy an evening of uplifting music and worship. Everyone is welcome!

Ladies, save the date for the Rooted Women’s Conference on September 19 from 9:00AM–12:00PM at Cookeville First Baptist! Avenue Women is excited to partner with First Baptist Women to welcome speaker Elizabeth Woodson for a morning of encouragement, connection, and growth. Registration is just $20, and childcare will be available. We’d love for you to join us and invite a friend!

Our mission team will be returning from Nova Scotia on Saturday. Please pray for safe travel. And pray for their remaining day in Nova Scotia: for open hearts, meaningful connections, and for God’s love to shine through every conversation and act of service.

Continue to pray for lives to be touched and transformed through the Gospel in our remaining three mission trips to come. Thank you for supporting our mission teams as they answer God’s call to serve others this summer.
